Weekend of Blissful Printmaking at ODU

Photo 70ah! Old Dominion University….my old stomping ground. I always appreciate their willingness to let me invade the printmaking studio for a weekend and get some much needed printing done. In graduate school I focused on multiple woodcuts. I haven’t done reductive woodcuts since undergrad. So this weekend, I decided to revisit this fun and potentially promising relief process with some fresh ideas and sketches.  The scary and exciting thing about reductive woodcuts are the finality of the last color. Because you are carving your block away after each printing, the image develops as the block is destroyed. -creation in the destruction, or is it the other way around-

anyways, check out the prints I did in my “print”section
