My girls have water names. Nixie means water sprite and Tallulah means leaping water. I suppose it’s no surprise then that they love all things aquatic. A trip to the beach is filled with joyful squeals and lots of splashing. I squeal and splash too, but there is a little more caution and distaste on my end. Too me, laying back, closing my eyes to relax is about as much as I want to do at the shoreline. I will lay on the sun heated blanket, not moving –praying that sand on the girl’s bodies wont fall onto my lotion skin creating an unwelcomed spa like scrub out in the elements. As a momma, there are dangers lurking at every corner, but I would like to think that the beach is safe. Or is it? Children are so much more aware of the world around them. We don’t give them enough credit sometimes. …..
